George Harrison was rememberd by hundreds of fans in Grifffith Park. A plaque was unveiled next to a tree planted …

George Harrison Memorial Tree Killed by Beetles

Isn't it ironic?

A memorial tree planted in Los Angeles to honor the late Beatles musician George Harrison needs to be replaced after it was infested with real-life beetles.

Los Angeles Councilman Tom LaBonge made the announcement over the weekend, according to the Los Angeles Times. The tree was planted near the Griffith Observatory in 2004 to honor the musician who passed away in 2001.

Bark beetles are common in Los Angeles and regularly feed on pine trees, the same type of tree planted at the Harrison memorial.

Clearly a fan, LaBonge was reportedly in attendance for the final tour stop of another former Beatle; Ringo Starr was performing with his band at the nearby Greek Theatre on Saturday.

Harrison spent his final days in Los Angeles and was honored with the plaque including a written tribute, which reads:

"In memory of a great humanitarian who touched the world as an artist, a musician and a gardener."

LaBonge says Griffith Park officials plan to replant a pine tree similar to the now 10-foot-tall tree that is being removed, though no official date for the new replanting has been set.

Animal photographer David Sleter and Wikimedia have a fight about the copyright of a series of photos of an ape. The funny thing is that the ape stole his camera and did a number of selfportaits after he has found the button to push. After a while he was bored and the photographer got his camera back. Wikimedia uses the photos and argues that the photographer has no copyright on them cause he didn't shot them.

The community Wijchen, near Nijmegen in The Netherlands, was to paint the refuge islands in the village. But they had a bit of an accident and entered the wrong colour code in the order: now they're all pink.
Link has video. Inhabitants rather like it, but the authorities have already confirmed they're going to be repainted soon.

Breaking news: Wijchen has decided to keep the pink islands! What's more, a local artist will make further embellishments.

Apple creates a special website where people can get U2 removed from their new i-Phones.

Yesterday, eight wild boars managed to get themselves trapped in a river in Limburg, Netherlands. The fire brigade managed to rescue three of them...
And they were shot by a hunter almost immediately. Because there are now too many boars in NL (no natural enemies) they are allowed to be shot when they are outside certain designated spots.

Same situation here in France. The little (some are quite large, armed and dangerous) swines are all over the place. Last year our golf course was practically destroyed by a band of porcine marauders.

"They say breasts are like martinis: two are perfect, three are a problem. But apparently not for everyone…

Twenty-one-year old massage therapist Jasmine Tridevil from Tampa, Florida (NATURALLY) always wanted a third breast. And just like the three-breasted character in the 1990 film Total Recall, she’s gone and done it. Apparently she visited over 50 plastic surgeons till she finally found one who agreed to do the surgery. The third boob didn’t come cheap either, she spent around $20,000 for it. (What a boob!)

According to reports online, Jasmine wants to land a reality show and she’s hoping her third boob will get there. She has upcoming bookings on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Inside Edition.

However, Jasmine denies all of this and says, “I got it because I wanted to make myself unattractive to men. Because I don’t want to date anymore.”

Metro UK reached out to her parents and reported, “her mum and sister will not speak to her and her father is ashamed of her.”

Me? I only wish Jasmine and her third boob the best of luck!"
