He lived with Sonny Barger and the Hells Angels for a year and wrote a book about the experience. Which pissed off the Hells Angels and Hunter feared for his life. In a TV interview with Hunter and the Angels, things were resolved when Hunter agreed to buy a couple kegs of beer for the Angels to party on. Which in fact was the dispute Hunter never bought the beer. 8)
[/quote]
i read that book a few months back :o

Don't forget the Hawaiian Punch references scattered on the Ship Arriving... record.

I love this thread. Here are some contributions.

Listened to FZ constantly from 1969 on, having grown up in SoCal and romped around Lancaster, Hollywood and the Inland Empire during that period. Listening and watching L.A TV and Radio during that period helps to interpret some of FZ references.

<< "Where can I go to get my jeans embroided in Fullerton?
At Jeans, at Jeans North where nothing fits"
I don't know if this place was for real.>>

"Jeans North" is a reference to Jeans West , a jeans retailer chain during that era.

Here is one you missed...

"ADEE Doo" is a quote from an ad for ADEE Plumbing and Rooter service who bombarded LA radio with their ads in the 1960's.
Not sure of the origin of "Camarillo Brillo" but Camarillo is a town just north of Los Angeles in Ventura County that was most infamous in those days as the location of Camarillo State Hospital where most any freak would be sent for any general anti-social behavior. Charlie Parker spent time there for addiction. I took a field trip there for High School Psychology class. A most unpleasant place back then. The "Camarillo Brillo" could be caused by Electro shock therapy which was administered quite often back then.

It could also be a twist on Amarillo which is Yellow en espanol.

Eddie are you Kidding is a take of the "Zachary All" commercials also that bombarded L.A. independent TV back then. They really claimed 60 tailors in the back and would have you a custom tailored Double Knit suit in 15 minutes or less I believe.
