It's a question of pronunciation Doug. If you pronounce ia as ee - ah then it's two syllables but if you pronounce it yah then it's only one.

Penn - syl - vay - nee - ah or Penn - syl - vane - yah.

I wouldn't dare pronounce which one was correct.
