Part 1: The Good

First day of training for new job.
First day, for which I recieved pay, in three and a half years.
Had a second 'phone line installed.
Won $50 in a contest sponsored by IBM.

Part 2: The Bad

Needed a second 'phone line installed before today.
Bell was going to do it yesterday.
Didn't happen.

Part 3: The Ugly

Last week I made an appointment for Bell to install a second 'phone line Sunday between 8am and 12pm.
Having heard and seen no sign of them by 1pm, I contacted them and spent 45min getting a resheduled visit for 12pm to 5pm.
Recieved a confirmation e-mail stating it was for 5pm to 9pm.
Got a 'phone call from them saying "someone" filled out the work forms incorrectly, they won't be coming Sunday AT ALL. Will send the installer on Tuesday, 12pm to 5pm.
Today (Monday) Bell 'phoned for a satisfaction report on the work done on my 'phone Sunday.
I gave them the lowest score. They asked why. I said, "If you want a better rating, have the tech guy actually SHOW UP, rather than make, then cancel, 3 appointments!"
10 minutes later I got a call from Lawler the Installer asking me to explain what I needed, as his work order is all messed up. 30 minutes later, he was at my door, and I now have my second 'phone line.
I just hope no-one shows up for the Tuesday appointment!

They'll want some $$'s before they'll give you a confirmation code for your second "free" phone.
AT&T is sending me two bills for one phone. It's the nature of the beast.

Spent the early morning hopping from branch to branch inside an enormous laurel hedge in my parents' garden, pruning away to reduce its height by about third.
The only problem is the laurels tend to fight back.
Thank God they have a swimming pool for cooling off afterwards as it's about 30 degrees C. here by midday.
Have already pruned 2 hedges in the course of this holiday - only 3 to go. :|

Sounds like your doing "The Hedgehog Bop" down in France, or is this a working vacation Caputh?

Helping out with Pa and Ma, Kiirk (they're both in the mid-70s) and my Pa is not as fleet of foot as he once was.
Actually, when I'm cutting laurel bushes, I imagine I'm your other namesake, Ki[i]rk Douglas in "20000 Leagues under the Sea", cutting off squid tentacles - that way it's still holidays! :)
