Is that special?

Lately there've been a lot of those bright yellow butterflies here. Funny you think one moment "it's been ages since I last saw one" and then you see dozens. Must be the gentle winter and warm spring we had this year.

Not as special as what happened later on the same trip: I have found a single glove (for the left hand).
But something really special will happen in a few minutes: I'll ride my new mountainbike for the very first time.

My best friend came to visit. I taught him how to juggle. :)

Garden, garden, garden (avoiding marking exams 'till tomorrow).
Pruned and groomed my unruly garden so that it still looks unruly but some flowers can grow.
20 degrees C plus today. Unfortunately, my boiler can't deal with warm days and cold nights and keeps on conking out.

Woodcutting season has begun again. I'm getting a jump on next winter. I have acres of trees to thin out this year but I look forward to working in the woodlot once again. Cutting, hauling, splitting & stacking keeps me plenty busy. No wonder I don't put on any weight. Today I'll also be filing for unemployment.

Poor BBP attacked by the dangerous kitchen

I went through an annoying spate of repeatedly slicing various fingers and my hand instead of the intended meat/fruit/veg....seriously impeded my lame recreational guitar antics... :P

Condolences on your loss

Dang, just broke the toastie maker putting too much in it.
The kids are gonna be cross.
I'll order RBP for them to make up for it.

Worked in the garden some more, got nettle stinged and a splinter in my thumb. Right hand, spent a good (technically not "good" but you now what I mean) ten minutes getting it out.

Met up with an old German friend who lives in the USA; a great bloke. It's funny how with old friends you can not see them for ages, yet pick up the friendship again as though you had just seen each other last week...

Oh, yeah - the Bastille!
Where they sawed off the poor old governor with a butcher's knife for surrendering! And the French still have a public holiday for it!
Still, I love the Declaration of the Rights of Man, Arsene Wenger, Escargots and going to France every year for my summer holidays.

(I even kind of admire "l' Incorruptible" a bit)

A beautiful heron stood in our pond at dawn this morning and ate 27 of 31 goldfish as far as I can make out.
