Do you have any favorite songs that have repetitive single-line choruses that build up infectiously? Not just repeating plainly or fading like an outro or trading lyrics, but repeating while varying the intensity as each repeat is another ratchet higher in intensity, like a mantra out of control, especially at the end of the song.
Two examples of what I am talking about are Mike Keneally's Pride Is a Sin where he is repeating "Savin It Up" and Frank Black's If It Takes All Night repeating the title to whirling dervish levels. Its like amphetamines.

This was Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys trade mark, while stacking multiple layers of volcals. As for a current hits "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People is an excellent example of rythmatic building of a catchy hypnotic sound.
