I saw George Carlin back in maybe 2003 or 4 and a guy opened that played guitar and the crowd would shout out a band name or song and he would fire of a hilateous copy of a piece of the bands music, it was funny as hell...someone yelled Frank Zappa! He stopped playing and responded, "what do think I have a 30 piece orchestra back there"...that got a good laugh, I suspect that FZ GC had a strong cross over audiance.

A long time ago I've seen some Jango Edwards & Friends Roadshow shows, which were pretty funny.

I love Ween. Like Zappa, humor permeates everything they do but also like Zappa I hate to call it "comedy music" because they're just so freaking good. 8)

The Frogs' improvised "Made-Up Songs" series is unmatched. You won't find too many bands who can do that.

Firesign Theater. Check out my fave "Everything You Know Is Wrong" or "We're All Bozos On This Bus" which is probably just as good. Maybe they might be a little dated for the younger folks on the forum.

Your Man Is Gay
Polly Urethane (along the lines of Ms Pinky)
I Ain't Afraid Of Your Husband
Venus Bound
