Thumbs Up. Great guitar player and probably a fun guy to hang out with.

sorry.
6/8 has a binary symmetry that 3/4 does not have.
3/4 has a ternary symmetry.
i think higher ground by stevie wonder is a good example, if you listen to the hihat/subdivisions, you have this this thing happening in 3...
but the strong beats happen on the EVEN numbers of the beat.

cool?

No, Peart has tendonitis. They said it will probably end their touring days.

Not completely, though.

No major tours. Just small residencies.

Sometimes.

Not in my opinion. But you know what they say about opinions.

Change the way you count. It's all the same.

The title of your thread is pretentious in a bad way.

What I really like about Alex Lifeson is his use of dominant and suspended chords as well as his, as Geddy says "arpeggiation".

I like the '76-'82 era. I thought it was cool they were playing Losing It on the recent tour. I once heard someone describe the Limelight solo as shit and I defended it.

It usually is.

I suggest Alex Lifeson as the title you should have used. Of course, if your intention is to be annoying...

yeah, i didn't go with that one for a couple-few reasons.

1. again, i did 0 research, but i fugured a.l. has been discussed into the ground here.
i wanted to cover a few things in my title.
one: it is indeed a question.
two: there will indeed be more (questions).
three: i did not, repeat did not use the search function this time.

2. i didn't want to build any hopes/crazy assumptions about a.l.:
"oh no, alex has the whooping cough! or tennis elbow! or wait...
is he putting down the guitar like 4 ever!!??".

3. mystery powder.

all in all, no, i was not trying to be annoying. and hold on a second here...
why am i defending my thread title like you did that limelight solo?

that^ was not question #2 of the series.

So this is not about binaries, after all?

There a 10 kinds of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don't...

no.
it is more like another eager attempt to break the pattern of things being awesome, great, amazing, meh, decent, sucks, horrible, over/under-rated, etc.

rinse. repeat.

In all the movies I have seen they make a series of clicking sounds, use telepathy, or speak perfect english which the rest of the world should take as good advice...

So you were fucked up on Cocaine or worse and you decided to log on and start a thread about Alex Lifeson and call it "question. 1 of a series - based on 0 zappa board research". That's not a great reason but I suppose I must accept it as a valid one. However, it's not a reply I can accept without disappointment.
