I believe that it's not Ruth and have sent Cal an email to ask. I will report back when I know for sure.

BTW, are we talking about the picture of the female on the inside cover of the Uncle Meat vinyl on the left hand side with her face in profile and outlined by some kind of mechanical device?

If you're talking about the girl in b/w on the bottom left, I've always thought that she's something Cal found in an old commercial leaflet for dentist's equipment or something like that. I think the clothing style, hair and graphic texture are more likely of the Twenties or Thirties than the Sixties.

That is definitely a photo from say the 20's, if that is Ruths head he would have had to cut in here profile... :smoke:

It looks as if the photo of the woman and the unknown instrument (I dare to guess) are superimposed over each other (look at her left arm) and while the woman appears to be in garb from say the 20's, that wristwatch is getting a reading on my crapdetector (I don't think it was common for women to wear a watch in that fashion then, I think the pocket watch may have still been prevelent even with men), this could very well be Ruth dressed in dated garb and shopped into the picture (the shoes don't look right either).

The jewelry of the 1920s was designed to be modern and sophisticated with clean lines and geometric shapes. Styles were inspired by China, Japan and Egypt. Women wore beads, bracelets, pendants earrings, watches and brooches. Men wore cuff links, tie pins, belt buckles and watches.

What kind of computer do you think "they" used for "photoshopping" in 1968?

Cut and past literally, and Photo Shop was an actual word before the PC, it was something someone actually did with a learned physical skill (remember the Oswald photo from JFK), kind of like what art used to be... :smoke:

I don't see any traces of "photoshopping". The head looks totally anatomically in line with the body. That kind of invisible manipulation is untypical for Schenkel's art. And she doesn't look much like Ruth, anyway. You're building something from nothing. As usual I expect that you will want the last word. You're welcome, although I've figured out why your crap detector keeps going off. There's a source close to home.

Actually I originally said I didn't think it was her (not very clearly of course), I was just suggesting possibilities for ways it could be...dam Dark, I'm not a petty man, but at times have been accused of being passionate…hey when I’m on your team, I’m all in.

We agree the girl is cut into the photo of the instrument right? We can all see on the enlarged photo that there is no eye piece on the instruments arm where her head meets it, the fade of her left arm around the vertical arm of the instrument has been manipulated, and the vertical arm of the instrument disappears in a blur of black into her dress. Not to mention the cable from the unit at the top of the instrument would be up against her head between the instruments vertical arm and her fore head…those images are cut together, correct?

The instrument is clearly cut and pasted into the picture of the girl, but I think it's "one girl", and that she's probably from a Twenties ad. Look at the similar raster pattern on head and arms. Also compare the shadows on her face and left arm. The similar direction suggests one light source for the entire picture.

No way is that Ruth, If you hear a loud rythmic knock on your door tonight it'll be Ruth with her mallets, looking to make some noise on your drum.
