As I listened to Ted Nugent's 'Wango Tango' the other day I was a bit taken aback. Ted uses colorful language to paint a picture of the vigorous ass pounding he evidently gave to this poor woman - that's just him being an artist and masterful story teller and we should expect no less. But when he states he's 'going to get a little talcum - he's going to borrow it from Malcom' a red flag goes off for me. Are we really to believe that while he's 'wango-ing' this girl 'to death' (as he states) there just happens to be a guy in the room named Malcom and he happens to have with him some talcum? I call bullshit. You fucked up there Ted. Now I call the whole story in to question.

So that got me thinking... If we can't trust the Wango Tango of all things, what other songs are out there that might not be 100% true?

I used to think Dinah Moe Humm wasn't entirely true.

Until I found this:

I've never been able to find any evidence that 2112 will occur the way Rush said it will. Although I haven't been able to disprove it either. Gonna have to wait on that one.

I heard something about the song "Jesse's Girl". I think originally, it was George, not Jesse. I think love songs are like movies that are "based on" a true story....modified to fit whatever need the artist has. BTW....Jesse over George? Good call on that one.....

Hall & Oates' "Rich Girl" is actually based on a rich guy. Who woulda thunk it?

The verdict isn't in yet but he's still trying.

I think Peter Townshend, in retrospect, is glad that he didn't die before he got old.

Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day-Jethro Tull

Ian Anderson says he wrote the song about the Thames River freezing over because of Global Freezing, the big worry at the time!

In "You Stupid Asshole" by the Angry Samoans, the song begins, "You took your clothes off / I started to laugh / That's when I knew it was through". But then later in the song he complains, "I need a girl who puts out / But you don't and it's causing me pain". Sounds like she was trying to but he turned her down. And then he calls HER an asshole. Of course, he also calls himself an asshole at the end. Maybe this song is more complicated than I thought.

Ya gotta hand it to Frank for admitting the song might not be true right in the song itself:

And I know
I think
The love I have for you
Will never end
Well . . . maybe

"I Ran" by A Flock of Seagulls. The lyrics state that "I ran, I ran so far away...". Did he really run and if so, how far? How far is far? I am skeptical that the protagonist did indeed, run so far away.

I hope Farmer's Daughter by Deep Purple is an utter lie.

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. In fact, I'd probably better kill you anyway, just to be on the safe side. Hold still.
