2 weeks away - love or just like it a lot, its gonna be played and someone might win it.
I reckon England go out in the quarter finals (again).
And if I never hear a samba again it will be too soon.

How could you, other than using the non-functional search engine...

It is so ironic that in the "country of football" when we finally get to host it, half the population is against it. Although it seems everyone is going to watch it in the end. We will see...

Piet Heyn captured an entire Spanish silver treasure fleet at the Battle in the Bay of Matanzas. He captured over 11 million guilders (today's value about 1100 million euros) worth in gold and silver, skins, sugar, amber etcand expensive items like coloring. The massive amount enabled the Dutch to fight the Spaniards even more out of our country: it financed the Dutch army for 8 months, during which the important city of 's Hertogenbosch was recaptured.

A song praising the event was written in the 1800s, a very playful tune that used to be played in Holland vs Spain football matches.

The Dutch have a very special relationship with the Spanish, are you still using the national anthem that has "To the king of Spain I've granted
A lifelong loyalty" BBP?

The USA team just won 2-1 against Ghana. In American Football that's basically 14-7. If the USA played Ghana in American Football they would win 147-0. Don't get me wrong, I do have an appreciation for soccer (as we call it in the U.S.). Soccer is a very popular children's sport in the U. S. but among sports played after middle school by Americans the best athletes gravitate towards American Football, basketball, baseball, and in some areas hockey. However, popularity and a better understanding and appreciation of the game is growing in the U.S.
