Beirute is a sanduĂche, probably influenced by the Syrian-Lebanese culinaire in Brazil, which is made up with the so called (here in Brazil) Syrian Bread from the immigrants from the early 20th Century in Brazil.

Granary bread, a sprinkle of shredded iceberg and very finely chopped red onion and packed with sliced Brie and honey roast ham.
Final touch - grinding of black pepper.

In my formative years, I was hooked on syrup sandwiches. (spread maple syrup on two pieces of bread, and put 'em together)

Peanut butter and strawberry jelly from Smucker's or Knott's.
Turkey Bologna, Gulden's mustard, sliced cheese and pickle relish. Pickle chips are nice, but I like my variation a lil better.
Grilled Cheese and finally:
French Dip! Excellent on a chilly day.
