Don't worry, you probably just forgot your birthday. Me, I can't remember a thing that happened that day. Try this...

1. Open your wallet or billfold or wherever you keep your stuff
2. Look for your driver's license or ID
3. Find the part that sez "Born-On Date", ya know like for beer
4. Go to google or whatever yer go-to search engine is and find the albums nearest your date!
5. Or not.

This one is was released on my birth-date:

Then a week later (No wonder its my all-time fav album! :)

If you mean that we were old enough to appreciate, then the first 3 albums that really grabbed me and pulled me away from synthpop (yes, I know  ) Were The Wall (never listen now), Dark Side of The Moon and Joe's Garage.

Before that, I was right into my synthpop lol.

First LP when I was 10 would have been Songs, Stories and Pictures of the Fabulous Beatles on Vee-Jay. Sgt. Pepper came out when I was 13, along with Are You Experienced?

When I was 15 I was taken with Blonde on Blonde, Uncle Meat and Get Yer Ya Yas out and Let it Bleed.

Hi Scrute:

A few years ago I wanted to know a bit more about the music I had missed(within the context of my life) since my formative music years started around 11 or 12. There was over a decade of missed music so I did some investigative work.Aside from the well known albums. The hidden gems. Good music that I wasn't old enough to know but as an adult discovered and appreciated.

The Ventures Play Telstar and the Lonely Bull

As far as I can tell this is the album released most closely after my birth that had an impact on me. I'm not sure when I started listening to it but I was about 16 months old when it was released. It probably belonged to one of my oldest brothers and got left behind.

ok.

beck, bogert & appice & ABBA's ring ring came out on the day.
couldn't care less about those things.
however ... herbie hancock's sextant came out 3 days later.
it's a shame i discovered that one so late/about 10 years ago.

better late than never, right?

Please Please Me---The Beatles
Surfin' Safari---The Beach Boys
Green Onions---Booker T And The MG's

And The Glenn Mitchell Minstrell Show, I believe. Was this an English show? Cover of LP shows big stage filled with folk in blackface.
