Its just me I know, but when I see peoples avatars, I can't help thinking thats what they really look like. But if I had an FZ avatar, this is how I'd score the similarity. (1 being completely dissimilar, 10 being unnervingly exact).
hair length - 1
facial hair - 3
nose length - 2
eye / hair colour - 1
general handsomeness - 8
I don't look like a bottle of wine either.
TT

I do have a big nose...

But, the answer is yes, I do associate the avatar figure, whatever it is, with the forum user. For instance, jaypfunk's avatar is perfectly compatible with his whining personality...

I dunno duchamp... sure, you look like art, but you might be a forgery.

The guy in my avatar was put to death. He's been there since the Forum Upgrade of 2006 in which Arkay was a casualty, never to be seen again. That account was started Jan 2001, I think. The forum started in Aug of 2000, right?

Mine was actually me as a child. Then I changed it to promote good will throughout all the forum.

That's me. It was a great honor to be asked to pose for the album cover.

Yes -- clean-shaven self-portrait.

Photographic self portrait sent through the simsponizer (not online anymore) and given some additions. No similarity to FZ. Don't like FZ-avatars, mostly very uninspired. Everybody knows how FZ looked like, it would be more interesting, how each forum member looks like.

That is me, but I was aiming for a particular effect and messed with the lighting and so on. I had another one that I liked but seemed to freak a few people here out which I don't understand so this one was purposefully created to obtain that effect. The location message below it is being used to emphasise the ominousness of the avatar.

I always feel like you're looking down at the posts just disapproving.
