Can't say I know many, but Lumpy Gravy by far... Another one that caught my attention was Hymnen by Stockhausen...

Oh yeah - Holger is great - I love Canaxis, by him and Rolf Dammers. And Tago Mago of course, which I've been playing constantly in the car lately.

Another special favourite of mine is Why Not In Choir by the Norwegian/Polish band Holy Toy, led by Czukay body double Andrzej Dziubek/Nebb --

Why Not In Choir - a totally stunning collage of music, pig squeals, Polish choir singing and noise. Kudos to drummer/everything Lars Pedersen also!

Mine too. I have that one on original vinyl and the CD reissue from 2007. The CD was made from the original mastertapes without any additional processing. That is how remastering should be done. Highly recommended.

How about RED NOISE with Frank Zappa pictured on the cover? And while you are at it, bid high:

I love Rock Bottom - and had to order Songs for Swinging Larvae when you reminded me 8)

I believe the cover of SfSL is one of the designs Gary Panter did for Ralph Records in the early Eighties, right after the infamous WB Zappa threesome.

you're quite right about the gary panter art work, although it's a little different than the usual panter style.
many years ago, i picked up a 45 by gary entitled "tornado to the tater" b/w "italian sunglass movie". songs and performances are by gary, and it's produced by the residents (whose early albums surely belong in this post). the 45 is wrapped in, when unfolded, a 22" by 28" poster of robby the robot wielding an electric guitar. this is done in the garish panter style we all know and love. the 45 is a limited edition of 2500 copies.
and while i'm at lt, i had intended to include "on the corner" and "in a silent way" by miles davis in my list.
