Hey there!

Does anyone know where I could find a transcription of Michael Hedges' performance of Sofa No. 1?

One is on the album "Oracle" and the other is on the compilation "Beyond Boundaries". They're actually quite similiar, with only the slightest of variations. The "Oracle" version is slightly faster in tempo and was recorded in the studio, while the "Beyond Boundaries" version was recorded live, and a different guitar was used. I prefer the live version.

I've probably listened to each of these pieces at least a hundred times. On more than one occasion I've dreamt about them. They are deeply beautiful, moving and spiritual, and Michael was able to capture the essence of the piece magnificently and perfectly, while adding his own distinct and unique voice...God, how I miss those two guys. :'(

As far as a transcription I don't know if one exists, but I'd love to get my hands on it ifn' it did...

Yeah, I've check google and got nothing. I might have to figure it out myself. Actually that'd be a pretty good project for me.
I read an interview with MH, where he said he had to use a highly unconventional tuning (which is not unusual for him) to make it work well on guitar.
That was my first question, exactly! What kind of tuning did he use?...and I'd NEVER be able to play those harmonics...mine would be a severely "dumbed down" version, to say the least...
