I remember seeing The Jerry Garcia Band.....They opened up for Zappa in Chicago. What a nightmare,You would of had to of taken a bunch of acid to like Garcia's music. I would like to know what Frank was thinking when he double billed that show!

I'm very pleased to say that here in the UK, The Dead didn't do much at all, never sold many records.

That is a weird combination. I like the Dead/JGB and (obviously) FZ, but for different reasons and at different times. I will never, however, to able to imagine seeing the JGB band and then having Frank hit the stage. Too damn weird!

I still can't believe how wierd it really was, It was was a freak show! You could tell who was there for Garcia and who was there for Frank! Could not get Garcia off the stage fast enough with his endless guitar solo's... Frank stole the show!

As a Zappa and Dead fan, I would have loved the '84 Chicago show with JGB. Jerry was on the brink of his first collapse as a result of a diebetic coma about a year and a half after this show.

Hey Space... No disrespect to the Dead fans, but The first part of the concert was nothing but white people with no rhythm, spinning around like tops, moving and gyrating to their acid high. I would bet most didn't even know what song was being played . I was in tie dyed hell. Once Frank came on stage many Deadheads started to walk out of the building.. ( NO RESPECT )to Frank. Franks audience were always under more control (we would sit and enjoy what was being offered) Standing and applauding after a song but then back to the seats we go. my point is going to see Frank always seemed that his fans (not all) had a sense of respect not only for the musicians but also for their fellow fans involved. That's one of the many reasons I loved seeing Frank live! I went to see Frank ... NOT TO DO DRUGS!

Two Deadheads sitting around in their VW listening to a cassette of LIVE DEAD when they ran out of pot.

Five minutes later they each looked at each other exclaiming ,

" Man , dude , this band SUCKS ! "

california governator arnold schwarzenegger signed a bill
today that further decriminalizes personal possession of marijuana,
downgrading it from a misdemeanor to an infraction ...

I don't think there's much he could do an a national level, as far as marijuana laws. Because it's bad stuff!

Does anyone know if marijuana interacts well with steroids?
