Funny you mention them not actually filming in Santa Barbara.<br>Ever notice the movie Bullet with steve McQueen where they do this car chase and one minute they are in North Beech and the next minute they are way on the other side of SF in Bernal Heights.

Marlon Brando. Gerald Ford was born here, and his birthplace was voted the most boring tourist attraction in the US some time ago.

James Labrie was my next door neighbour when I was 10. Him and my dad still talk often! But other than that there is no one of any importance in our shitty little town.

I live in a small northern California town called Paradise. Harmonica great, Norton Buffalo lived here the last four years of his life ( I got to know him a little bit), Gary Burghoff (Radar of MASH fame) lived in the area for years - not sure if he still has a residence here or not but he still can be seen on a local tv commercial for a company that makes those walk-in bathtubs and showers for old people (only saw him once in person but got to know his ex-wife and two sons pretty well), Tom Selleck owns a ranch in the area but I don't know how much time he spends here (I've never seen him). Lazy Lester, an old blues harmonica guy who recorded in the '50's lives in the area. Getting some buzz lately is Jeff Maehl who was the leading receiver for the University of Oregon football team who played in the NCAA championship football game this past year. Everybody thought he would get drafted by the NFL in the 3rd or 4th round but nobody took him.

Fifteen minutes down the road is Chico. Aaron Rodgers, Super Bowl winning quarterback, is from there (he also lived in Paradise for awhile when he was a little kid). The was a story about Rodgers making a music video at the bowling alley in Paradise a couple weeks ago with a Chico band he is financing (the band is called The Make, I believe). Pat Mastellotto who plays drums for King Crimson is also from Chico.
