ok, you've done tons of Donald-modeled Ducks. You've shown that you can do a lot of variety on that model. Branch out just a bit more and make yer own aviary characters, that can have their own setting. and then play with the setting . . .
Of course you can, if you wanna.
Holidays are coming? Do you already plan 6 months ahead or do y'all lhave a different holiday set 'over there'?
Just suggestions if u wanna different flight pattern. Again, yer creations are absolutely Duckie with me!!

Summer holiday: hopefully I'll be doing nothing from next Tuesday 5PM (test from 3 to 5 which I'm not likely to score well on) until early September. Though probably I'll get a job as newspaper deliverer.

I also remember it being clear when L Shankar's Touch Me There first came out that McLaughlin was playing the hard guitar parts on Darlene. But, neither my copy of the vinyl (which I bought as a replacement for the original I bought when it first came out but went missing) nor my copy of the CD mention John McLaughlin as playing on that track. He's included in the thanks on the vinyl that's listed at Donlope but not on the one I have. So what happened there?
... i don't think mclaughlin was in the Lakshminarayana Shankar's Zappa produced record ...

I'm sure he was and I was hoping someone had the details because I've forgotten them, but not mentioning his name had something to do with the usual record company scumbag bullshit of contractual obligations and releases for special projects and who has permission to play where and when and so on. The fact that Shankar thanked McLaughlin on one of the releases and that his name was removed from a later one is a clue. It was discussed with Zappa in an interview way back then but I can't remember which one.

Just wanted to say BBP, your pics are really cool. They make me smile!
I love drawing too, but don't seem to get much time for it these days. I just finished a mural on my daughters bedroom wall though and it's got me wanting to pick up the paintbrush again. 8)

She wanted a really girly room, so I just painted her walls vivid pink, and drew daisies all over it freehand, just randomly scattered on the walls. Then I drew some cartoon girls faces (which arent finished yet) on the chimney breast, and "Eeyore" from Winnie The Pooh (cos she loves him, and that was the only thing she specifically asked me to do) by her window. I'm quite pleased with the result. There are butterflies and stuff dotted round as well, and she's well happy with it. I have no pics, but I'll remember to take some and show you if you want. :D

Aspy, the new Doctor!! I suppose it's already screened in the UK? We're getting it in OZ very soon. I hope this one stays for more than one "season".

Yeah he is staying, although his sidekick (Billie Piper who plays Rose) has announced last week that this series is her last, and they will have a new girl to take her place.
If you like Doctor Who, you will love this new series, we only have 3 episodes left to watch here...bummer! I'll have to get me the new box set when it's out. The monsters are amazing, and the stories are captivating. The writers have just let their imaginations run wild. It's great because after the first series last year, I wasn't expecting it to be as good, expecially with the departure of Christopher Eccleston as "The Doctor". Turns out it's just as good, if not better. I especially liked episodes "The Girl In The Fireplace" (which scared me silly) and "The Idiots Lantern" (the latter was written by Mark Gatiss from The League Of Gentlemen).
There are trailers of each episode here if you fancy a gander...(Hahahaha see what I did there, on the "Duck, Duck Goose" thread...? Gander....duck....heh  ). They don't give much away but you may not want to know what each episode is about...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/episodes ... ndex.shtml

If you don't want any spoilers, then here's a trailer for the series that doesn't give too much away.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/episodes ... arth.shtml

(BBP, sorry, I know this is your Duckie thread, and it's been hi-jacked...Im sure we'll get back on track!).

OK, I get it, you don't like him. But one thing, don't forget that the majority of viewers at 7pm on a Saturday night are kids of age 10 and upwards. Kids like excitement and his method of "overacting" as you put it, is something that kids will identify with. Christopher Eccleston was as excitable when playing that character.

Maybe so, but just from my point of view, I find it annoying...

Heh, heh, you said muff, heh heh.

Everytime I read this thread I try to think of another drawing for BBP, but can't. No imagination and no artistic ability. I can whittle though.

Just seen the Rolling Stone Top 100 of Great Guitarists. Crap, no Satch Vai or Yng, but it did have BB King.

Hmm... Beak Beak King?

Thanks Aspy, but I'll resist those links for now. Good to hear he'll stay, we don't want to use up doctors too quickly. Funny how no-one's using his name which I for one don't know. Eccleston was good, but staying for only one "season" was a reason to not use him as a doctor.

Keeping him in would mean taking itself too seriously and this Dr Who can't afford to do that because then, without that British dry wit and tongue-in-cheek approach it become just another lackluster SciFi dinkus.

The link above is where I've started a new thread re Doctor Who. I didn't wanna carry on hi-jacking BBp's ickle Ducky thread. It's just too cute. 8)
