I say they film New Years Eve for a future release. I'm sure Les will do some songs with ZPZ so it will have even more historical significance. Plus, it's end of the year...the band will be tighter than a virgin beauty's asshole. 8)
NO BRAINER

That smoking face picture doesn't work for me, the link jumps to the Joe's Menage page.

I'm not familiar with Les Claypool.

Sounds like a great idea to me!

Polydigm,

Les Claypool is the bassist and vocalist for Primus. If you haven't heard them before and you're a Zappa fan I'd suggest checking out 'Sailing The Seas of Cheese', 'Pork Soda' and 'The Brown Album'. All fantastic albums, in my opinion. 8)

Have a look at this  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtrsfefvM2U

He's one of my favorites from when I was a teenager and I'm so happy he still tours regularly. I've probably seen him over 20 times in the last 10 years!! I was actually at the show in the clip. It was during New Orleans Jazz Fest in 2003. At the 4:50 mark you can actually see my hair fly up in front of Brain's drum kit while I was headbanging!

I was at the NYE show and a friend of mine recorded it on some shitty little recorder and had someone put it on CD and it is excellent, I listen to it often. The songs "Magic Fingers" & "Carolina Hardcore Ecstasy" are near perfection throughout and the DZ guitar solo is one of his best. Also the song "King Kong" was performed to perfection and this is the song on which Les plays. You can find several different You Tube videos of that performance with varying degrees of quality. I am still waiting for a recording of the Sac show at the Crest on 03/06, the magic tape recorder went to that show also and the band performed awesomely and unknown to us at the time, it was the second to the last show Ray and Aaron would do with the band.

Les is great, and I would definitely purchase that DVD. For people unfamiliar with Les, pick up all the above mentioned Primus albums, plus "Suck On This" (Everybody say "Larry, you're a bastard!"), and "Tales From the Punchbowl" (Southbound Pachyderm being probably my favorite). His solo stuff is excellent (Including the Frog Brigade stuff, and the Buckets of Bernie Brains stuff (Live Frogs Set 2 being one of my favorites - A complete version of Pink Floyd's Animals).

It'd be sweet if they could play together at Rothbury, maybe kind of a repeat show from NYE.
