Gary Lucas, "The Thinking Man's Guitar Hero" (The New Yorker) performs at a memorial service for his father Murray Lucas.
Here Gary performs George Gershwin's "Our Love is Here to Stay" on his 1946 Gibson J-45 for his dad, who suggested he begin playing the guitar at the age of 9. Filmed by Gary's nephew , Mourners in attendance included Gary's mother Adele Lucas, his wife Caroline Sinclair, his sister Laurie and Ezra , and his cousin Bob Goldman and their family.
