That's an interesting clip. While the music & look of the band was a basic Elvis knock-off, the audience was practically a mosh-pit.

My general impression was that rock & roll audiences before the Beatles/Stones/Who were generally well-behaved. Maybe some locomotion dance moves were about as wild as they got.

That's why you have to move beyond sacharine entertainment to if you want to knwo what things were really like in previosu eras.

Yeah I got it off Ebay - The music is Burnt Weenie/Uncle Meatish in general and certainly recognisable as being written by the lad hisself - And he is creditted at the end.

I watched the whole film the other day, it was interesting to hear FZ's music in the context of a film, but it's probably the worst film ever made, it was truly painful.

I think it also goes part of the way to dispel the myth of how quickly FZ wrote music. There are several themes in there that turned up later in more developed form and I think that's how FZ composed in general. He let his ideas germinate and he was a kind of harvester rather than someone who just sat down and wrote music from start to finish.

but it makes perfect sense and there are a number of people who describe an aspect of this process: Gail, Ruth, Steve Vai.

Also, the theory is borne out by listening to how melodies would germinate and get expanded on through sucessive live performances or across the length of a tour, or even successive tours. Lots of songs actually.

Yeah I found the rhythmic pattern of Echidna's Arf in a guitar solo in one of the Australian tours of 73, but very slow I"ll try and find it, it's an event to listen to all 9 concerts, and Brisbane is audio grissel, so I'll get back to you on that one. I remember when I heard it I was totally blown away, by how precise it was, but slow, then after that I had this obsession to know what went on in the rehearsals. I just had to fucken know. but it's all ok now I've dealt with it "the universe continues to work whether or not we know how it works" If Gail is going to release a 73 summer band (winter in Australia) that one would be such a great complement to anything Roxy.
