On this plugged in thing, there was a period when Zappa experimented with wireless connections on stage, I can't remember the details, but there was a reason he wasn't quite happy with it.

I will never know now they've pulled it!

I know it is the copyrights' owner premise to do so, but at the same time it feels evil for me to deprive fans of free easy access to material not otherwise made available...

Is the only point of music the commerce?

FZ plays wireless on the footage from Halloween 1977 on Baby Snakes, but exactly when he first started using this, i don't know...

Wasn't Angus from AC/DC one of the first major guitar players to start playing wireless ?
For a while in the 70's he had the transmitter inside of his schoolbag on stage i believe...

I saw AC/DC play in 1979. At one point Angus sat on the shoulders of a big, burly roady, entered the audience, went all the way through the audience, out the rear doors, then appeared back on stage, from the rear curtains...all the while playing his guitar solo non-stop. I often wonder how much they paid the roadie, because Angus was sweating so much that when he shook his head, water flew like a wee doggie shaking himself off, after a swim!
