Frank Zappa's 200 Motels [c. 1971/United Artists], slightly re-edited by yours truly. The intention is to put the cartoon segment where it belongs: before the finale. Other scenes have been reordered to accommodate this change.
Sources For This Fan Edit Include: Screen-captures of the new transfer
available on Amazon Instant Video, audio from said transfer, footage from VPRO
documentaries made during the film's production, audio from the soundtrack album,
audio from a rare 1975 bootleg, and audio from said VPRO documentaries.
Everything has been sped-up or down to it's original performance speed!
US Theatrical WIdescreen Standard of 1.85:1 used.If there's a way I can get ahold of the new transfer I bought on Amazon Instant Video without the use of screengrabs, which I will be researching on off-time, I'll redo this immediately! Having a consistent frame-rate throughout is something I can only dream of at this stage, lol!
This is a presentation edit, not a restoration. That should be made vitally clear. I'm trying to present the film in a better light for the sake of the music. It's now on YouTube! http://youtu.be/U_qTnZ2970E
Along with the short featurette made during it's production: http://youtu.be/2NEPFflLwEs
A DVD of it has been prepared but I'll save that for when I can go at this again.
Screw that laserdisc I say, these colours don't make your eyes bleed! At least I don't think, xD
