Does anyone else avoid it like the fucking plague? I don't give a damn if it's rednecks, guidos, or fatasses buying storage units; I stay away from it.

One gets more books read that way

I don't even believe it exists. "Reality TV" is just as set-up, scripted, and edited as any other media program. They're just less honest about it.

Agreed. My father-in-law watches only A.) War movies (nothing wrong with that until you've had to so sit through "Troy" 200+ times) and B.) Reality tv. If anyone tries to watch something else around him he cries "Bullshit! This isn't even real."

Reality tv is fucking fake and dumbs down the imagination.

I like to watch the one on fat people sometimes. I like Secret Eaters which is a UK show.
I used to like Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares but I can't watch the US version - too many irritating er, people, whoops! :P

I watch TV to escape reality, not to witness more of it.

For some weird DNA reason I love those shows about surviving in Alaska. And Dual Survival. We want what we want, I guess. :)

I find books to be in no way superior to tv or movies. They are exactly equal. You can enjoy both, although in different ways. You can learn from both in different ways. Actually, I find that WORDS have more importance on tv or movies because a book often caters to people who want to read 3 pages about a beautiful sunrise, when a movie can just show a few seconds and get back to the STORY. Now, thats not the REALITY stuff, though. The good part of "reality tv" is the interpersonal negotiations. I know plenty of socially awkward people who could use a pause from their tight-assed lifestyle, kick back and watch someone else act in the same doofus way they do and maybe, just maybe a light will click on. Or not. Its all slime...

I don't mind Kitchen Nightmares. But once you discover Gordon Ramsay won't get punched out, it gets boring after awhile.

However, just about anything on tv is better than The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Orange County, Miami, Atlanta, New York City, New Jersey, DC, Athens, Melbourne, France, Brazil or now even Vancouver!

Wtf watches this shit?
