On a related topic...H.E.L.P. was going to be the name of a supergroup when Jimi Hendrix joined Emerson Lake & Palmer, but the son of a gun died. Maybe that's been mentioned before.

That would have been cool, Jimmy Hendrix and ELP. Lousy drugs, killing eccentric Pop Stars.

The list of "COOL IF's" is a long one
but some things are left better
as time chiseled it's mark.

WHAT IF
Mitch Mitchell lost the coin toss and Ansley Dunbar was chosen as the drummer for the Jimi Hendrix Experience?

As stated some things are left better
as time chiseled it's mark.

Peace to all and a Happy Thanksgiving, Zappadon and whatever else you may celebrate in the coming months.

I wanted Slim Whitman to join them so they would be WELP.

An additional What IF....

Did you know Steve Howe before he joined Yes, auditioned with Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull. In a parallel universe, I'm sure they've had a successful run of four decades.
Would they've dwelt longer on the folksy acoustic era? One can only speculate, but Martin Barre is one hell of a damn fine guitarist.

Any Crimheads out there know who this unnamed black singer was? I have a feeling he was in the orignal London cast of Hair (Tony someone).

You're half unlucky if it's Schrödinger's cat.

I can't remember his name but he later ended up in Manfred Mann's Earth Band and he sang the bass vox on Sniff 'n' The Tears "Driver's Seat." He would have been great for Crimson.

This fellow is Noel McCanna. He is a great singer and I believe has been with them for well over 10 years. He used to be in a band called Moon (not Ray Owens Moon).

Funnily enough I asked the guitarist in MMEB who replaced bass player Fowler when he broke his hand circa 1974 for a few Zappa gigs, according to him FZ wanted him in the band, but the future looked too rosy for the Earthband for him to contemplate the move. It was great ,later on during the gig he spotted me in the audience and whilst he was performing his Solo in the dylan song on Solar Fire he decided at that moment to play a phrase from Gumbo Variations FZ solo. What a fine guitarist is Mick Rogers. Classy.
