The Whistle Test Years on BBC2 (it's a UK thing, you wouldn't understand) played City of Tiny Lights with the bickford video last night. All of it. Not quite primetime but the closest thing to it for years.

Even better was though was The Specials playing 'Too Much Too Young' in the same programme.

The whistle test years is a good programme, I liked the Joni Mitchell performance too! (don't know what year that was)

Well not quite 'just a video' but you know what I mean - The Specials were one of the most important bands of the late 70s/early 80s and that song still sounds so good nowadays.

I remember seeing Zappa live on a Whistle Test repeat a few years back. I'd love to see it again, I think it was early 70's but I can't remember the song

Maiden were great in 82 - really rough around the edges. Try again with the specials though, it's worth it. I recommend the 1st album or maybe the bbc sessions.

Besides, she looked great in the 70's. Most female rock stars look uncomfortable with guitars (and no, I'm not being sexist before anyone suggests it) but Suzi didn't.

Ahem, am I the only one who liked the Billy Bragg footage a few weeks ago. One man, one guitar and a shirt from Millets. Pure poetry...
