In season 4, episode 3 "The Blind Date," Larry David is going to a costume party with his friend who is dressed as a cowboy. Larry says "What are you supposed to be-ANDY DEVINE?"   I would not have thought much more about this until I caught the credits, where it was revealed that the character of the Muslim woman (in full garb, hence the lack of recognition) was played by none other that...MOON ZAPPA.<br><br>hmmm...

I just noticed season 4 is out on DVD, I will shortly rent and digest said episode.  Damn it's a good show isn't it?  Beats the fuck out of Seinfeld 9which was also good, but too heavily laden with tv cheese and censorship).  After seeing Curb, and learning that in real life Larry david was best friends with Richard Lewis, anyone else think Seinfeld would have been a million times better with Richard instead of Jerry?   Of course then it would have been called Lewis.  Still, Jerry is pretty obnoxious.

no, I've seen seasons 12 and 3.    Haven't seen any of 4.  I guess maybe I've seen the one you mentioned but it's not rining a bell.  The Crazy eyes Killer is by far my favorite episode.  I was dying from laughter when I saw it!!!! "you're my caucasian!"   did you know that section where crazy eyes pulls out his rhyme and asks larry to help him, larry's reaction is totally improvised, crazy eyes never told anyone he was going to pull that out!!! so funny.  MOst of the shows are improvised, at least from a dialogue and performance level, obviously the plots are well worked out.

The seinfeld characters WERE very annoying (by design most of the time)  but the whole thing was hijacked by tv.  Larry stated the differences between working with a major network and HBO was not so much about "what words you could use" as it was about what he could talk about in the first place.  that's really sad.  The appeal of Seinfeld wasn't the characters or the performances, or even the jokes (for me)  It was the structure of intersecting storylines.  I don't think any television had ever done that to that scale.  Luckily Curb happened, and we get to see what Larry is really capable of.  I consider Seinfeld to be like, a prelude to, or the junior high version of curb!
