If i remember right, I think that the Apostrophe (')
album is hanging on the wall of the record store in the movie High Fidelity.

No, again Asparagus, old bean. Battin' 1000, there ;D And yes, I believe Apostrophe' is on the back wall of a record store. In the same shot, all THREE Joe's Garages are on display. A good Zappa-spotting flick as well as just a damn fine motion picture anyhoo.

I was watching "The Ice Storm" with Kevin Kline. Pretty dark movie ie. Ordinary People. There's a couple of kids ripping bong hits to The Slime or something off of OVernight. Kind of cool, knd of cliche.

Crappy movie.

Anyway next time i see it on, i'll let yous know. I think yer man from twisted sister plays himself in it too...

Alright, this is a real weird obscure one which I'm hoping someont can verify for me. In the film Oh Brother WHere Art Thou, throughout the dialogue is vaguely reminicent of thingfish, which is of course not a reference, just an exagerated version of the dialogue of the time and region, but many phrases are heard on thingfish. THen there is a scene where the characters are riding in the back of a truck, and they drive past their old chain gang. In this scene, as prisoners are flying by in the background, I SWEAR TO GOD one of them is a mammy nun, you see a huge potato head with a duck bill peeking out the side. I SWEAR! IF someone here owns this movie, please check this out for me.
It does make sense as a reference, since the mammies started out in prison.
I swear it's the weirdest coolest Zappa reference ever. Noone else need bother.

Sir, I love this movie and after several viewings over the last year or so (thank you TNT for playing it over and over), can only say you must be high! There are no mammy nuns! Seriously. ::)

now that you know, watch it one more time. I swear I'm not kidding!
eddy, I am not kidding, in the scene where they drive by their old chain gang, it glides by the screen veryquickly in the background, just be on the lookout before you tell me it's not there.
