Both a crappy movie and a crap-intensive movie. With singing yet.

The movie poster was better than the movie by a long shot.

I love that movie, but I won't convince you to watch it again. If it's not your cup of tea the first time, it won't be the second time. Or the fifth.

I don't hate it - Princess Rosario Dawson is in it, so I can't hate it entirely - but it's silly.

I watched Six String Samurai last night. I guess that's considered crappy. But I enjoyed it.

Oh c'mon! There are so many crappy movies you're missing. Sometimes you don't even notice the movie is really crappy till half way through- and still you can enjoy it! Crappy movies are the spice of life!

it has few hilarious jokes with bruce willis in first place and few other guys... but not enough comedy to be a comedy movie, and crappy drama

I had high hopes for this one - but it smells of money and laziness, even a few minutes in. Where are the jokes?

We turned this off after about 10 minutes as it was gash.
One of those films that despite being set in the past (about 4 centuries ago) the sets, clothes, makeup and sounds ring of the year that the actual film was made. The opposite of Barry Lyndon for example.
Lambert is crap!
I will seek out the original made by Carl Theodor Dreyer from 1943

I think Lambert is always crap - Highlander was crap, but enjoyable crap and with his crap French accent, his crap haircut, his crap nose, eyes and bottom (revoltingly and crappily revealed in virtually every crap movie this crappiest of all crap actors has ever made), anything he ever makes, does or breathes is bound to be CRAP. (Barry Lyndon, on the other hand, is a work of ART).
Sorry in advance to all those Christopher Lambert fans out there...

Well, don't get me wrong, I loved the scene with "George W Bush", smoking and getting the fire for rebellion together, but...........it didn't carry the movie, that's all I'm saying.

I feel about the second Harold and Kumar the way I do about the second Bill and Ted movie - was it REALLY necessary?

True enough, though I liked Red Dragon the first time I saw it. Less and less with each viewing.

frank zappa: music in review.....

with apologies to cal--

yeah, it's bad.

okay, let me get this straight, "king kong" is off the "lumpy gravy" album? hmmmm.......
don't think so. the footage of frank in interviews and in concert are grainy and look like 3rd or 4th gen copies, full of spots, lines, etc. were they trying to age the movie? i don't think so, but the interviews with the pasty-faced journalists and some guy who worked for frank for three months---yeah, they come out clear as a bell. i know this dvd has been discussed here in another thread, but this is my review, goldernit! thankfully, it was a rental, but whoever put out this piece of crap will get money for a rental as well. i thought it funny that there was a "copyright infringement" type warning. oh yes, the incidental music isn't frank's, someone else wrote it, and it doesn't sound anything like he would produce. the music he did write is shown in concert footage...and most of it you can see on youtube. there are a few photo's i hadn't seen before, but that's not a reason to watch this. i'm definitely going to email netflix and tell them to get rid of this, and, of course, give it a pan so nobody else watches it, either. blegh. :P

Isn't that another one of those cult films where they throw toilet paper and toast?

They throw footballs while wearing tuxedos, apparently. The screening I attended wasn't such a production.

Oscar. Great script, claymation opening sequence, Rossini, beautiful decor, John Landis directing, Harry Shearer in the cast... but Stallone manages to mess up every joke. Why did that guy never win a Razzie? Why?

I do my utmost to avoid the crappy ones, but from time to time they do crop up. This film wasn't bad... but it wasn't great either. Why didn't I just go see "I Love You, Man" instead?
Image

Basic plot: It's 1987 and a high school graduate is planning to spend his summer in Europe. Uh oh, Dad gets downsized at work so they can't help him out financially. The kid is forced to take an amusement park gig to pay for trip.
Ugly kid gets hot chick. Feelings are hurt. Fights at the foodstand. Friendships are forged over chili cheese fries. Kid gets drunk and runs into tree. Can't go to Europe anymore since he has to use summer job funds to pay for damage.
Ends with cleche' of him standing in rain convincing hot chick he is the real deal. He looks like Ron Perlman and she a little like Alicia Sliverstone.
You figure it out... :|
