Ralph Bakshi's hijacking of R. Crumb's Fritz the Cat.

Crumb is a schmuck. Bakshi's film is better than any of his work.

You got the wrong guy. I'm not a big fan of animation, far from knowledgeable about the work of your hero. Strange that you attack Crumb though. Bakshi obviously felt differently. Especially as it haunted him for some ten years until he forked over a nice, big check to Mr. Crumb to absolve him of his sins.

This is probably the worst movie I've ever seen. So bad, it's funny. A well-known stinker, like Ishtar (which I actually liked OK).

Actually, that's not true -- Crumb was paid throughout the production. The notion of Dana signing over the rights seems unlikely, though. I like Crumb's work, but not the artist himself.

Ishtar is pretty funny. All the hubbub about it being so terrible came from the fact that it had such a huge budget - and people were perhaps expecting more than a dopey late-80's comedy.

Yea, it's all murky. I do distinctly recall reading Crumb saying he received an unexpected check from Bakshi (in the 80's), that pretty much saved his butt from the IRS.

Yes, I've finally found someone who hates that movie! I've been hearing all these towers of praise heaped upon this film, and I still haven't seen it because it was directed by the same guy (Zack Snyder) who made that god-awful Dawn of the Dead remake.

You referring to this?

I liked it. The screenwriter makes some really interesting movies.

That's the one. I'm not a big fan of violence, or martial arts. Let's say there's no doubt about taste (even though there is).

Yesterday some channel aired Baby Geniuses, which I decided to watch to see if it was really that bad.

I had to wait for 10 minutes for the first joke, which was a baby tossing a wrench into the groin of the plumber.

I saw "Unfaithful" with Richard Gere and Diane Lane on the TV the other week. What a steaming pile of dog turd that was. Even Olivier Martinez didn't make it worthwhile watching.
