When in doubt, watch "The Shining" again.

I've been on a tear recently watching my Jackie Chan DVDs.

1. Operation Condor
2. Legend of the Drunken Master
3. Any suggestions? I was thinking either Project A, Project A II or Who Am I?.

Departures - Okuribito (2009). Fantastic mix of drama and black humour, and beautiful music! <3

Blue Jasmine and Malavita. Both great movies.

Pearl Harbo(u)r was on UK TV last night.
Rotten. Especially when he says 'submaRIner' instead of 'subMAriner'.

The funniest part of this movie was the party scene at the end. When the small jazz combo is playing, it depicts the trumpeter playing the melody, when upon listening you can clearly tell it's a tenor saxophone.

"The League of Gentlemen - Apocalypse".
My favourite subliminal joke is the "Overlooked" Hotel.
Mind you, I would advise watching the TV series before you watch the movie (just for reference purposes).

Not really a movie, but watched all 12 episodes of I, Claudius. John Hurt as Caligula is particularly good. Beats "Gladiator" into a cocked hat.

Yeah, Doris's singing in that version is just too painful...
Watched the French Connection 2 for the first time in years. Had completely forgotten the end, which is brilliant IMO. Gene Hackman is also fantastic. They don't make action movies like that anymore.

The original Man Who Knew Too Much, with Leslie Banks and Peter Lorre. Puts that Doris Day-thing in the shade.

The Ring, remake of Ringu. Original is much better though. That one's horse free.

Currently the Inside Man is playing: great film ruined by the lengthy and frequent ad stops.

Mind you, Sabbs and I are both Trekkers, which helps pick up on the humour and appreciate the surprises.
