Hey, Isaac - I actually watched a film that was made in the 21st century last week: "Crash".

I liked that movie too.

I saw "Thank You For Smoking" in theaters last night. It was pretty good.

A History of Violence.

Good movie. Brutal at times.

I watched the Coen brothers' remake of The ladykilers, it was ok, the original with a Coen touch to it basically...
But it's very dissapointing compared to their previous films imo

The original was far superior, but the remake had some moments. The Marlon Wayans character was funny. Overall, pretty lackluster film. About what you'd expect from a remake, but extremely disappointing as a Coen Bros. film. A lot better than their next flick, Intolerable Cruelty, however.

That's my favorite Hitchcock film. Stay as far away from the 1998 remake as possible.

I completely agree - I'm rewatching most of the Coen Bros films and saw The Hudsucker Proxy last night. Even better than the first time I saw it - I think it's pretty much faultless from beginning to end. Reminiscent in parts of Brazil, and of The Front Page, but uniquely Coen Bros. If I had to pick one favourite element, it'd be the very talented Kate Hepburn impersonator. Also, every time I watch a Tim Robbins film, I always think "I'll bet Tom Hanks wanted that role". You have to admit the general facial similarity, hairline and demeanour, and I know a bunch of people don't have much time for him, but when he's good he can be good.

I've bought A History Of Violence recently.

I'm sure it's good, but this FIFA World Cup detains me to look at it.
