ZPZ are booked to play the Byron Bay Blues Festival over the Easter Long Weekend. Most overseas bands which play there also have concerts in Sydney around the same time.....not sure about the other capital cities, but I imagine they'd play a few gigs around them while they're in this hemisphere.

Yeah I just found out that ZPZ played at the Civic Theatre, Newcastle.. a real shame I missed the show.

I first started listening to Zappa in the late 70s, a girlfriend had an album artwork "coffee table" book, and the cover of "Weasels Ripped My Flesh" caught my eye.
Back then I had to import FZ's Lp albums through a mob called "Impact Records" in Canberra, which was quite expensive.
Nothing like how it is today with online importing :-)
2JJ was the only radio station playing FZ & Captain Beefheart material.
My favourite FZ albums would be "Hot Rats," "One Size Fits All," and "Sleep Dirt."

It surely is one thing great about modern technology where music can be so close yet so far, as opposed to the old days. Although there is something to be said about album covers that's for sure! Or better yet even, all of the various pastimes that album covers may have been part of through the years. Whatcha Talking bout Willis?
