I downloaded that mp3 of the dweez zomby woof solo from premier guitar, it is good.
So now we know the deal, ZPZ in early 2010, ZPZ in late 2010, Roxy after that.

I found that a tasty morsel.
And I must say how wonderful
Ben Thomas Sounds
"They said aw-reety
An' they was aw-righty
An' I was a Zomby for you, little lady . . . "I am guessing it is from the PRS Open House gig back in late September.
The tonal landscape is quite different from other DZ Zomby Woof Solos I have heard.
I am wondering if this Edgar Winter Frankenstein Tone was chosen for the PRS gig.
I could see where DZ was playing for a large tent full of guitarists that he may choose such a tone.
Anyhow this solo is quite different from the one that will be on the forthcoming ZPZ CD from the YCFOSA tour
where Dweezil speaks of his Zomby Woof solo being in-the-zone of Frank Zappa Air Sculptures
where it is more about composition with contours and shapes as opposed to traditional scales.
I think it is fair to say that this Zomby Woof is of The Son of Zomby Woof Meets Frankenstein
shape and contour design. It's an interesting solo that shows a level of diversity in DZ playing.
He is obviously not just using FZs tonal palate from the Shut Up Albums, Roxy or any other FZ period on each and every solo.
Sure on any given night we get plenty of that FZ Dynaflanger and Aphex Expressor Compressor palate that is unique
and deserved of DZ performing FZ inspired Air Sculptures but DZ gives us plenty of diversity in any given show,
tour and or the general progression of his tonal palate since 2006.
