I saw Thomas Nordegg filming some 1982 European shows (one piece of hand-held video; I would imagine St. Etienne from Video from Hell is one example). Did he do the same for the the 1981 shows? Or did some shows, like Ritz, have more cameras?
It is a great, great show!!!!
I expect Thomas was working elsewhere and that FZ had someone videotaping the shows from a tripod at the sound board
or having a hand held elsewhere. I never saw Thomas at any of the 1981 NYC Run but then again I did not remember seeing
FZ play the Hendrix Strat at the Palladium and I think I was front row when he did. My memory has FZ playing the Hendrix Strat at The Ritz
and that is an example of that my mind draws a blank on FZs usage of that guitar on Nov 1, 1981 at the last Palladium show FZ ever gave.
A long time has passed and when you see so many shows sometimes you can get a little cloudy on some issues.
I certainly was never drunk or getting high at any of these Zappa shows but I just do not remember Thomas
in 1981. I remember talking to Gail's brother Midget Sloatman after the shows and he was FZs guitar tech so
I think that in itself may take Thomas out of the picture but video taping was to some extent quite normal for FZ.
I think he even had a video feed run out to UMRK Mobile.
