The original neck was broken and attached to the body when Eric Barrett gave it to FZ. I have generally no problem with FZ doing what he did to the body, as far as I'm concerned, his association enhanced most guitars he owned, which Dweezil has diminished in this particular case. If there was a crime it was Jimi smashing it up in the first place. But it's only a guitar.

I quite like the big headstock. maybe it's there as a counterbalance to the wood FZ asked Rexy Bogue to nibble away, and the paint Jimi burned off. Generally the bodies of Strats had not changed between the 60's and the 70's.

In the Philly movie, Frank takes a good bit of time rehearsing the horn section on properly playing the harmonies on Sofa. It's pretty cool.

There's a TV show that takes place on the 88 tour in Philadelphia. I've seen pieces of it. It's got some pretty interesting soundcheck footage and anti-drug interviews. I don't know if it's got any concert footage, aside from the soundcheck stuff.

The Barcelona DVD is great!

They also filmed another show in Madrid 88, footage of which has never been seen..

So now you say Dweezil did't not give the original neck away :?

The original Jimi neck was given away by Dweezil as a present. The neck which Frank used was a completely different neck.. carved or bought in by Rex Bogue which I think is still knocking about - perhaps broken.
