Reading John French reminds me again of how much I want this to be released properly...

For the past 30 years I've had Cal Schenkel's Apes-Ma print hanging on my wall(s) - a perfect cover for BCP, I think -

This is a test print, mine is number 207 of 300.

A Van Vliet painting on the cover would also be nice, as on the bootleg LP -

I'd love to hear it too, I've read that there are bootlegs of it around but that they're not the one we all want that must be buried in the vault. The original Bat Chain plus the Wildman Fischer album plus all the stuff I read about in a few articles from Studio Z are my most wanted releases at the moment. Not counting Roxy, Rage, Dance Me of course.

It would be a fitting tribute to what would have been Don Van Vliets 70th B-day. :(
Happy trails D.V.Vliet.

It's kinda sad it's taken this long Kapt. A lot of people have wanted this for a long time. Too bad Don didn't get to see it. Petty crap even amongst our heroes is still petty crap.

You'd think this stuff would be released to capitalize on his death. Not saying anything against anybody, but it would probably sell more right now.

Ya,sad but to damn true. An artist is "outta the red when dead' seems to be the model here now.To freakin bad.
BTW KIll Ugly Radio is playing a cool tribute to and from the mans work.Links to more CB are there too.

"Capitalize" is an ugly word to use on this subject....but yes,I agree this needs to be out. At least to show respect for poor Beefheart's handywork/artwork! It would be nice to hear this as a tribute to his one-of-a-kind mind and music.

Yes, I wish that it had come out earlier (sadly, before Don's death)
but basically to hear what all the fuss is about. I actually thought the
current Bat Chain Puller is a great album, own it on CD and vinyl as well.
So I am sure long awaited vault version will be good as well.

I have a George Michael badge. It's green and he has a lot of hair on it. Also on his chest.

It's from 1985 (age 9) ]___[ It's the actual proof that BCP will be coming out this month, thank you

From The Captain Beefheart Radar Station blog:

I can't know for sure if it's Gail, but this gz certainly shows affection for the good captain.

And come February, we'll know if BCP appeared in January... I wish...

Can someone clear things for me, please? I just bought the Shinny Beast (BCP). So is it not the original BCP?

BTW, I was just coincidentally reading about that controvert Rio UFO picture above the other day when this thread started...

The original release got torpedoed by legal shit (DiscReet Records), so the songs were eventually re-recorded for the Shiny Beast, and the following two releases.
