I know Roxy is on the way, (when it's ready, it's ready), and I suspect, after peering 'round this forum for a while now, that interpersonal problems/business-related/rights etc-type stumbling blocks may be to blame, but it seems to me that the early '73 band could use a good live album.

I like the full-concert discs, but I think I like the compilation idea more, 'cus you can include the best parts of multiple events, which I like the idea of.

So that's my wish, and I'm leaving it pretty wide open... (not demanding/expecting it to be fulfilled, just wishing out loud- I appreciate what the Family Trust does, has done, and is doing, though it doesn't always fit to my tastes. How could it?

But yeah. Both Underwood's, Ponty, Fowlers, Humphrey, Duke, and FZ... and those lush arrangements! I love all of Frank's music, but I love the different textures of this period, and only really get my fix through shitty youtube videos, and my imagination. (And the albums of course, but the live versions are so different... )

Recently I discovered "The Lost Episodes" CD, and the "Kung Fu", "RDNZL", and "Inca Roads" versions on there are just... they're so juicy and thick with texture! You know what I mean, of course.

:D

I have a bootleg from the 73 band with Ian Underwood and Jean-Luc Ponty that opens up with some chamber music and also features early versions of 50/50, Zomby Woof, and Cosmik Debris.

I'd love to see that get an official release. Quite frankly, its one of my favorite performances of Frank's.

The sort of material, with Montana and an early Don't Eat the Yellow Snow were played at Jadwyn Gym in April 1973. I was at that show.

This may not be possible in some cases. There are stories of Frank cutting out/saving pieces of shows and trashing the rest. We know that Frank recorded a lot of road material in 1973, but how many "complete" shows exist remains to be seen. I think there are enough highlights spread across several shows to make for an entertaining listen, rather than a complete show that might not be a great show or a great mix all the way through.
