Which era of Frank's would you like to see released in the series?

Mine would be some early '73, something from the'75 BongoFury tour, a Petite Wazoo selection and a Europe '82 to start with.

San Diego, March 24, 1973. Sal Marquez is still in the band, Don Preston sits in for the second half, and FZ tells the story of the Imaginary Diseases. Best Zappa concert I ever saw.

is this the imaginary diseases rap ¿ if so, they had this up on zappa.com when the i.d album came out, very cool clip of frank rapping about diseases etc.

Yes! The clip they posted was indeed from the San Diego '73 show I saw (even though Imaginary Diseases itself is from a different tour), complete with local references such as Logan Heights. That means they definitely have that show in the vault. This has always been the absolute #1 on my FZ want list!

Great band. I saw that band in Chicago at the Auditorium Theater, in the spring. It was fun too. Frank was being given an award for Musician of the Year or something, by Downbeat magazine. The Downbeat guy comes out on stage with the plaque, and Frank completely goofs on him; making him dance around in circles and all sorts of funny stuff.

Musically, it was my first FZ show and it just blew me away.

Princeton, April 1973. My first Zappa show and in some ways the best - and I saw the August show st the Pier (Saturday) so the '73 show is facing stiff competition (the 2 '88 shows I saw in Philly were the technically best sounding).

France 1979. They had 10 dates(7 confirmed). Maybe there's a better reel of the Paris show.

Anything recorded at the Garrick -

The entire Royce Hall show in one place

The Saturday night show at the Pier '84

Any complete show with FZ and Beefheart from the '75 tour (even better if it has Jimy Crl Black).
