During the Flo and Eddie period there were some photos taken of Frank with an ES355.
Does anyone know what his thoughts were on using that model?

He said he stopped using them because when he played bigger concert halls they Feedback he tried foam but was still getting too much Feedback.

Though i think the last time he used ES355 was Rainbow theater 1971 when he was pushed of stage i think the guy who pushed him said FZ was looking at his Girlfriend and the sound was bad, maybe the Feedback?

I can't see how Tape is gonna be more effective than Form,When in the make of Semi Acoustic a solid piece of wood for pick ups to sit on and not vibrate and course Feedback tape would have a effect of no F-holes which is worse ask Charlie Christian

From YCDTOSA Vol. 1 liner notes:

A week before this show(Rainbow Theatre, Dec 10th 1971) all of our equipment was destoyed in a fire at the Montreux casino in Geneva, Switzerland ( remember "Smoke On The Water" by Deep Purple?) this was our first concert after scrounging for new band gear. Most of it didn't work too well. We did our best to put on a good show, however, towards the end of the concert I was knocked off stage by an irate individual who later told police that we hadn't given him his money's worth and that I had been making 'eyes' at his girlfriend. I spent a month in the hospitol and the better part of the following year in a wheelchair. he went to jail for a short while.

Montreux Switz. early Dec. '71^

I guess Frank lost an SG in the fire. No telling if he had his 335 there. It could have been at home back in LA. I'm guessing it was there, or maybe FZ sold it to buy an SG.

I heard FZ was playing a Fender Telecaster at the Rainbow that fateful night. I read somewhere that he said it refused to stay in tune. And he didnt like the action too much as it had jumbo frets.

I hope it did get burnt. Semi acoustics are pointless and sound lousy, and the ESs are ugly too.
