Here is another Zappa release on my wish list!<br><br>Is this live compilation the essential collection of great Zappa solos? Is it worth $22.99 at the local Best Buy? <br><br>I also forgot to mention I am a Zappa newbie, the only albums I own are "Over-Nite Sensation" & "Sheik Yerbouti."<br><br>Do you Zappa freaks have any more reccomendations to add on my wish list? It's a good album but not a "greatest hits"... I agree on the suggestion to go for Shut Up and Play Yer Guitar first. While Guitar is amazing, it is definately a much more challenging and saturated listening experience than SUNPYG is. Those three discs have a wide range of easy to listen to styles and really display the scope of Franks soloing from the most mellow to full on heavy!

I've been listening to Guitar for 22 years. I think it's worth 23 bucks. It's a different beast altogether from Shut Up. FZ is playing a lot of whammy bar style on Guitar. Shut Up is the 70s Gibson SG/Les Paul guitar stuff. I'd say Guitar features more heavy, abstract playing than Shut Up. Both albums will require much listening to absorb all of the music. It's worth the time invested, imo.

I'd say now is the time to grab Shut Up, Roxy and Elsewhere, One Size Fits All, Grand Wazoo, Chunga's Revenge. You can pick them up very cheap online for around 6.99 each. Shut Up used to list for 30 bucks and now sells for about 15 dollars. If you like great soloing, you'll be blown away by the Shut Up title pieces, Pink Napkins, etc...
