I say...NO MORE umpteenth anniversary editions untill finally coughing up the ruby known as THE (ORIGINAL) ROXY DVD...it has been decades since it has been first hinted !!!

Instead we get The Substitute Roxy Dvd According To Dweezil...what's up with that ???

(cue for Jizzmonger's launch into diatribe about how we need said Umpteenth Anniversary Editions in order for securing enough funds so that the Original Roxy DVD may finally be transfered/synchronised/digitally cleaned up and released and that Gail knows what's best and Dweezil is the second coming of Frank...)

Ahhh fuck it, what am i saying ???
Overdose all of us on those Anniversary Editions, because The Roxy DVD is bound to be a huge dissapointment anyway

Warning: this post may contain minor traces of sarcasm ;-)

Well, see, that is in the works, and that one is kinda on the back burner due to budget considerations. We're not sure there's enough there for that one, the master isn't the greatest. And, well, the Synclaiver has been out of fashion for a decade, at least. But we're working on it.

If you or anyone still has a problem comprehending the work in progress
I suggest they get in touch with Zack Glickman.
He would probably tell you to watch the Roxy Promo and Weep.
What positive could come by complaining until one gets an ulcer
or gets depressed because that video is not playing on their 65" HDTV.

Need I once again remind you Frank Zappa announced Uncle Meat The Movie
was "coming soon" March 1969.
Frank Zappa Presented/Released Uncle Meat The Mothers Of Invention Movie 18 years later in 1987.
Frank Zappa showed us Coming Soon could very well mean 18 years.
Here is that reminder.
Image
March 1969 "Uncle Meat The Mothers Movie - Coming Soon Promo"

Joe Travers and Dweezil Zappa have stated enough regarding the Roxy DVD project
but if that was not enough Zack Glickman, you know the guy on stage with the mustache and royal imperial
, back in December of 1973 on stage at The Roxy he told us they would be ready when they are ready.

Hey I am not advocating dark water
so here are some distraughtening clues
that the pigs and ponies don't even know about.
Add 18 Years to the ROXY Video PROMO.
Add 18 Years to the Mothermania ODD.

Or you can put a motor in yourself.
Disregard any of the above clues that could cause you torment in the place
where the guy with the horn and pointed stick
conducts his business so you can enjoy life
living by Zack Glickman's motto
It will be ready when it's ready.

The Roxy DVD will never be ready, and ultimately, who gives a fuck anyway?

I would much rather have Dance Me This, Rage & Fury, Resolver & Brutality, etc.

BTW, FZ needn't have bothered completing Uncle Meat: The Movie. That was painful to watch, and boring too.

I have to agree that Uncle Meat: The Movie was one of Frank's most unnecessary projects.

Frank Zappa certainly though enough of that project
to complete it while leaving Roxy sitting on the shelf.
Certainly from a financial stanpoint alone
One Hundred And Twenty Eight Thousand Dollars
way back when was enough invested to move forward.

Maybe some people have a hard time with the overall connecting the dots
of what was produced in the 60s and then what was produced in the 80s
but I'd say as far as the project as a hole that it was completely necessary.

FZ on Sounds (Australian TV, 1983)
I'm finishing a movie that I started 14 years ago. (...)
This movie was begun before we did 200 Motels. (...)
I left it alone for a number of years because the material itself was tied up
on a lawsuit and it was locked up in a vault under the control of another person.
And when the lawsuit was resolved I got all the material back and decided I would finish it off.

I gotta admit. Uncle Meat the movie isn't a good movie. I also think 200 motels is a crock of shit.
However, I like Frank's use of film. I think he had some interesting ideas. I just don't think he was any good at telling a story through film compared to how good he was doing it in song.
