"Cheepnis" has a lot of overdubs on it, and there was a lot of stuff cut out of "Dummy Up". I may be forgetting some of the other changes.

Roxy is more "live" than Sheik... Roxy is closer to the "live album category"... of course FZ's discography forget the standard sharing between studio and live...

ciao

I usually find myself singing Pygmy Twylyte out loud for about 5 hours with no stop. After that I just can't speak. ::)

Roxy & Elsewhere is my favourite Zappa album at the time.

I think "Village of the Sun" would've sold like crazy if they had released it as a single. I'd probably use "Son of Orange County" or "More Trouble Every Day" as the B-side.

It's difficult to find Zappa albums where I live. There used to be a record store here, but it was closed down. Sam Goody's occasionally has copies of the 'popular' stuff, because they're too busy trying to push the latest chart-topping stuff, and could care less about selling music that is good for you.

It was the first Zappa album that I heard. I was lent a tape without the preambles so you can imagine my joy 10 years ago when I bought it.

Later on I got the chance to play Echidna's Arf (I'm a trombonist) and it was real fun to play. I still think that Son Of Orange County is one of the most beautiful things that Zappa wrote. When I broke up with a girlfriend of four years, I didn't get some of my cds back. I have to buy Roxy And Elsewhere for the fourth time plus Best Band, Jazz Noise, Yellow Shark, Healing Nicely. It makes me so angry! (the bitch would've burnt them too.)
