I spent a lot of time and energy scanning, uploading and posting my collection to this thread and now it looks like crap.

I'm extremely disappointed in this new and improved Forum.

Major bummer!

it does take some getting used to, the new forum format...i predict some evolution for the ones who lost their past...wow, losing your past...start over or add on...yes an evolution of sorts...

daisy...i, for one...know how much time and effort you spent sharing your collection...twice, if i remember correctly...after the original thread was tainted...

it rivals any 'cept maybe slime's mags...very essential!

Schenkel's art is awesome and his website is one of the more imaginative and exciting ones I've seen.
There's more here: galerieRALF art
although, that stuff is not brand new, I guess it's still for sale?

Too bad I can't afford to buy anything from him.

Here are a few pix from my trip to Calvin Schenkel's house to pick up my Ruben & The Jets Painting. We stopped by Cal's on our way up to see the ZPZ show in Philly on June 11th. These photos were taken by my nephew phideauxiii.

Image
Cal looking at his work one last time checking it for omissions. He made a few last minute touch-ups.

Image
I had it personalized by adding in my own phraZe for the talk balloon.

Image
Cal & I ...what a great smile he has!

Image
I got the first one in the series! I had Dweezil sign the back after the show at the Tower Theatre.

Image
We did manage to sneak the camera into the Tower Theatre. See Terry Bozzio off to the right. God, he is such an amazing drummer. I love him!!

It's not the best photo in the world but here is a photo of the free poster i received from particpating in the ticketbastard auction for the ZPZ show at Warner Theatre in DC on 10/30/06

The poster looks kick-ass in person; especially in the custom frame which is hanging at the bottom of the stairs leading to my basement. I call it my Zappa shrine. The walls on both sides of the stairwell house my signed set lists and various other Zappa related memorabilia that I have collected over the years.

The shirt was my mine and somehow he ended up with it. I found it when I cleaned out his house.

My brother, God rest his soul, passed away last August. He is the one who owned the Zappa license plate that I had Dweezil sign....see page 5....and the one who turned me onto FZ when I was a very young girl. Thank you Johnny! I know for sure he would approve even it was his.

Looks lovely on Ms. Prunes, doesn't it?

My good friend Jill was on her way to visit a friend in Pennsylvania. She decided to stop somewhere to find a cup of coffee when she drove by this coffee roaster store and saw this image in the window.

Image

She immediately stopped the car *hear the errrrrrrrrrrrrrrt sound*

Check it out here--------> http://greencastlecoffee.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=8573

She bought me that shirt and you can buy your own "What Would Zappa Do?" t-shirt for ONLY $10!!! They come in all colors and sizes and the back of the shirt says this:

"We accept that we cannot satisy the mentally deranged, Those experiencing dementia or hallucinations, The chemically imbalanced, Those under the influence of alcohol or mind altering drugs, Genetic mutants, Those Possessed or "Hearing the voices", Those seeking government surplus or inferior quality, Chronic complainers, The illiterate, Former Spouses, & The IRS"

~ C. Rake 1995
