Please excuse the potentially stupid question, how to I post pics on this thread? Do I have to upload them somewhere, such as flikr and post a link, or what?
I have a couple of things that folks might like to see but I can't figure it out

That's a shame, because Peter North, the guys and Sheila performed an awesome gig (my second one in 6 months, after seeing them in Amsterdam) all the way in Hengelo.

I had to travel all the way from Leeuwarden to Apeldoorn (2 hours by train), where a good friend from Utrecht picked me up at 19:00 by car and we went to the show together.
The plan was to try and take the last train home from either Hengelo or Apeldoorn, but since the show ended at a little after 23:00, that was of no use...

So i drove back with my friend to his place in Utrecht and got there around 01:30 at night and slept on an inflatable mattress on his floor, which had a leak.
Tried inflating it 2 times, but that was useless, so i ended up sleeping on his couch for a couple of hours...one of the worst night of my life, but what the fuck, i got to see some of the best music ever.

The videoscreens we're a great bonus, awesome to see Peter, Sheila and the rest play along with footage of FZ from 36 and 28 years ago.
Watching the footage of Frank gave me goosebumps and the occasional tear in my eye...man, i miss the guy

Me and my friend we're standing right behind the mixing desk in the back of the hall, right in front of Peter North.
Unfortunateley some of the enjoyment of the show was being demolished by a couple of drunken and/or stoned douchebags.

Even before the concert started there was an old man being carried away by a younger guy and when they passed us, there was an alarming amount of smell of weed coming from the older man...
If you can't handle that sort of stuff, then keep the fuck away from it is what i say...

But that was not the end of it, because there we're about 4 or 5 very annoying guys standing alongside us.
These guys honestly talked (shouting more like...) during the whole concert, went for beer the whole time (and in the process of getting it, constantly pussed us in the back and stood on or feet and ankles) and we're just annoying us the whole show !!!

They treated the concert as if it we're some kind of bar and i noticed others around me that we're really annoyed by them.
I mean, what's the point in going to a concert if you're not going to listen to the music and are just there to get drunk and be a nuisance to others ?

To end this rant on a light note however:

I did buy myself the new HAMMERSMITH 3CD in Hengelo and it's awesome

Ab: If with "douchebags" you're referring to the guy shouting Louie Louie all the time, that was actually a lovely German fellow. At least he was lovely until I went for dinner with his friend and he had a few too many.
Sounds like you need a place at the front: I was real close to Unica!

Naehairbear: you can't post pictures at all on this forum until you have 10 posts. After that, it is preferred that you upload them elsewhere and link to them using the [img][/img] tag.
You could also upload the images as attachment by the time you've left noob stage, but that's not advisable since this board is so large.

Thanks for that, I will get posting elsewhere and get my pics and stuff up here soon.

In a comic book at the book fair, I discovered this charming little comic. Drawings by Jean-Marc van Tol (for Dutchies: that's the artist of Fokke en Sukke).

No, to be honest i don't remember someone shouting Louie Louie, so it wasn't the German's this time around ;-)

About a place at the front: we did manage to get very close to it in Groningen en Amsterdam, but we simply arrived too late for that in Hengelo.
We only got to the Metropool at 20:00, got in and found out they sold Hammersmith (which we simply had to get !!!), so we had to walk out again and runned over to the train station to get money from the cash machine.
By the time we got back and bought 2 copy's of Hammersmith, the places behind the mixing desk we're about the only places left to stand...
Better luck next time !

@ Unica: thanks for your message, but how do i send one back ?

Found the link here: http://www.examiner.com/bob-dylan-in-national/report-bob-dylan-frank-zappa-1982-meeting-was-recorded-by-engineers

Quote:
When Bob Dylan met with Frank Zappa in 1982, the session was recorded by an engineer, according to Zappa tape archivist Joe Travers.
For decades, both Dylan and Zappa fans have wondered what may have transpired during this meeting. It turns out that the session was recorded. Masato Kato interviewed Travers over the telephone for Player magazine in the spring of 2009. Here's what Travers had to say:

''What happened was, when Bob came to the house, and went and had a meeting with Frank, Frank's engineer at the time, his name was Mark Pinske. And Mark ran off cassettes of the meeting at the time that they were having it. And unfortunately, those cassettes were lent out, and given out to people, and, they are not around any longer. So, unfortunately, those master cassettes of Bob and Frank at the studio talking about a possible working relationship do not live in the vault. They live somewhere else out there in the world.''

That's so cool... It's the first time I've seen visual proof of the Läther cover, with the shot that was used on Joe's Garage later. What an excellent find!
