I would love to see the stooges with Mike Watt! I have the dvd of them in Detroit a few years ago.

Yeah Punknayowned, I've got that dvd as well and even seeing that particular show on television is still a thrilling experience...the energy of the show isn't diluted one bit. However (and this is just a minor thing, really) the fat bearded guy who seemed to suddenly burst on stage to lead a riot of dancing fans also made an appearance when The Stooges played at The Fox in Detroit this past April leading me to belive that he was a hired hand.(scripted anarchy??) Still, what a historical event!!! & yeah, Watt fit in amazingly well.

I would love it if I was in a band with "Hocus Pocus" as our most famous song. Something tells me I'd never ever get tired of playing that one. And I'd bet that they've played that song at almost every show they've performed since they wrote it.

They did it again ! Thjis van Leer played a flute solo while sitting on his knees, then turned into some vocal extravaganza and ended with the theme of Hocus Pocus and the guitarist started this famous riff.

The concert was awesome. Thjis van Leer has got still a strong voice. Funny man he is. This pic is from last year.

Next they will tour in England. Highly recommendable for all english people here on the forum.

I caught them on the tour with Clarke, Ponty and Dimeola when the Rite Of Strings disc came out. I also saw the line-up with Clarke, Ponty and Bela Fleck a couple years back.

On the 7th of March just gone I saw Billy Cobham and his tribute to The Mahavishnu Orchestra at Adelaide Festival Theatre. The band line up had Cobham on drums, Frank Gambale on guitar, Jukkis Uotila on keyboards, Phillipe Chayeb on bass, Ernie Watts on sax, Guy Barker on trumpet and Marshall Gilkes on trombone and behind the band, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. The whole show was arranged and conducted by Colin Towns. Overall it was a great show. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the orchestra complemented the band.

It turned out to be a Nascimento plays Nascimento gig, which was really powerful and tight:

Yesterday evening I went for the first time to a famous local prog band show. They were releasing the third CD from a trilogy, each CD named after the three little bones inside our auditory system (in Portuguese Martelo, Bigorna and Estribo). The band is called Cartoon and here is a short video of yesterday:
