Spent the last week thinking of what I'd ask her. I really have no idea. Besides, what are the odds her answers are as clear as mud?
Nice initiative though, hope it'll be enlightening.

I asked:

She answered:

He was employed by FZ. On FZ's projects. My last project with him was and will remain Everything Is Healing Nicely.

I got my answers today. Here they are:

1. When are you planning to release:
a) The Rage and the Fury? - Undecided
b) Dance Me This? - 2011
c) The Roxy Videos? - Need a budget and an editor

2. Will there be 40th anniversary editions of
a) Uncle Meat? - more than likely we can do an audio-documentary
b) Burnt Weeny Sandwich? - there is more material for this possibility
c) Weasels Ripped My Flesh? - we definitely hope to remaster

Boo-hoo. She didn't answer my question, about whether any video from the Garrick existed (I know you are all gonna tell me no, but I asked her). Maybe she will answer, but I will ask again, just in case she didn't get the e-mail.

Dammit. She just doesn't want people to know what she had for lunch.

This is the answer: Sorry. I do not actually know at this time. All I can say for sure is that I do want to release it with video documentation and sometime near the end of the year - any year.

Thank you.

Ask me 50 questions and I'll answer them by Tuesday.

Hey, Gail didn't answer my question. Which was, "How much original, unheard outside of FZland, music is there left in the vault? It would be so cool if there were a bunch of new Grand Wazoo-era pieces, or new works in the classical vein that no one has heard before............

Well , she didn't answer my question either , I'm kinda used to that anyway.

BUT.... it was DEFINATELY very cool of her to do what she did.!! :D :D

She talked of some very interesting things coming up and next year might even be better than this past year for new stuff from the vault

The Real Gail Zappa Book would be interesting as hell , too.

Interesting read. Sounds like there's some good stuff to look forward to. I still don't quite understand why she feels the need to be so snarky with some of her responses.

I dont know if she answered the first 50 questions people asked but some greedy one asked more than one question. :P

No, she didn't answer the first 50 questions: I sent mine on 17 November (re. Extraordinary Teamwork), and got no reply. But she gave some interesting answers to others, so I'm not complaining.

Next time I'll ask about something in the vault. "Is there a Garrick release in the future, and if so, what lunch would you eat whilst planning it?"

I thought that she did clarify some things, and I agree, next year should be very good. I am happy that she says a '73 release with Ponty is on tap.
