Terri would be so proud of you, that's really beautiful Plook. If the weather is any indication, she's smiling on all of California today. :)

I hope you and the kids can find some peace in the internment today, I'm sure she would want that too.

And now Izzy has someplace to see her Grandma. 8)

Very nice bro', thanks for sharing with us mortals as I'm sure Terri's redecorating heaven as we speak. 8)

Wow. Any woman who inspires a man to do that is obviously meant to be with him forever. That's righteous, Plook.

Thanks for the lovely story, Plook - you've inspired me to a bit more romantic today.

Thank you all, yesterday was rough…

On continuous conference from 7:30 am until 12:30pm...very blah, blah, blah...I have a teardrop in my eye from boredom…don’t get me wrong, I love my job but there are aspects that are extremely trying… :|

Just imagine that it's a conference call.... on another planet in space.... and you're trying to save the communication channels for the Universe!

Does that help?

Just got the call my brother passed this morning, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer 3 years ago and it had spread into his bones already, he was given 6 months and lasted an extra 2 ½ years…More later…

Ugh - so sorry to hear! However, on the bright side, it's nice to know that he beats the odds by an additional 2.5 years! :|

I had another post and I went to edit and my PC crashed so I don't know where the heck it went... man. But the crux of it was everyone makes us who we are now. "So be here now and if not now, get there later." ~ Robin Williams.

I had a long thing all wrote out too! Sorry for your loss. :(

Now go out and par an 18 hole course this week for both your sakes*. 8)

*Then repeat it next year, "In honor of".

Thank you all, with my brother it is a little different since he was sick for so long and his prognosis was negative from the start. Don’t get me wrong it is a loss and he is my little brother (he just turned 54), but we have all known the writing on the wall from the beginning when he was diagnosed.

My brother and I played sports together from the earliest of age, he was always a star athlete in the big three football, baseball, and basketball. I like to think he was so good because he had to compete with me all the time.

We started surfing together very young (12 & 10 respectively) and he like myself was an expert waterman, we have many stories of glorious and courageous days dancing with the ocean.

He followed me into skateboarding, but that was the one thing that I excelled at far greater than he and he eventually left that sport. The same was true in the opposite of me and him with motorcycles he was an excellent dirt bike rider and eventually rode speedway in his late twenties for several years competing at a very high level. I gave bikes up before I was twenty as a result of some friends deaths and injuries on them.

Ollie’s problem was drugs, he would let them take over his life every 10 years or so and he would self-destruct everything he had built up over that time in just a matter of months. He would move start over and rebuild and just when everyone thought it was all good…boom!

When we were kids we invented some games to play together, one was an indoor basketball game we made a hoop and put it up in my mom’s kitchen and made a basketball a small rubber ball inside wades of paper with tape on the outside. We spent many hours driving my mom crazy playing games in her kitchen…this was long before the Nerf Ball was created.

We also had a game of football we would play on the living room floor, we collected mini pro football team helmets from a promotion at I believe Foster Freeze. They were the size of a ping pong ball and we would get an unshelled almond and use it as a football. Back and forth up and down the field that was my mom’s carpet they would go, I’m sure that stretch of carpet wore out first.

Ollie and I were also brought up playing ping pong and shooting pool, someone in the neighborhood owned one or the other at some time, we were very skilled at both. And of course we were excellent golfers due to our Fathers love of the sport.

I have some funny and crazy tales of surfing, skateboarding, and so many other sports…but those can wait, today is a celebration…Izzy’s fourth birthday party is today and I have to represent for Terri. I did the one thing that Terri was very skilled at and I listened to Izzy, I got her a ballerina slash princess dress (it actually converts) with matching shoes, hand bag, and gloves…to top it off a Barbie Princess Ballerina “Pink Shoes Diaries” DVD. I think Terri would be proud of me on this one.

For one guy you certainly have a shitload of good memories pack in your life.

And I'm again sorry for your losses.

And I'm again sorry for the inescapable cliche. But there's not much else to say.
