Yup, no matter how much I get into Frank's music, I'll never get to see him perform it live. I, unfortunately, got into Frank the year after his death - so if I were to quit my day job and spend 80 hours a week for the rest of my life becoming the largest FZ aficionado on the block, how could I still never "rank" in someone's eyes as being a "proper" FZ fan. That's an absurd logic.

Please believe me, I'm not having a go, I really want to understand what you mean by this. You were obviously trying to make a point and some kind of typo got in the way.

I'm guessing that should say "died" instead of "was born".

Who that you could possibly give a fuck about would think that?

It was a sort of round about conversation of missunderstandings, but I think we are all good now, the typed word is lacking some of the inflection that can be gleened when speaking with someone face to face...

Yes yes, silly mistake. I graduated high school the year he DIED, hence the age 35 thing. Wine affects the brain I suppose.

Thats totally fair.I don't 'rank' anyone,I just ask if they saw FZ or DZpZ.Not everyone has seen FZ.Most have seen DZpZ or want to.But mostly I'm just curious as to how they got turned on to FZ.I guess that would be a better way of putting it.I'll ask it that way,it sounds better. Thanks for pointing that out Penguin! I don't want to be a prig and treat the newbies as anything less than a Zappa Freak like me. You don't have to have fought in the civil war,to be an expert on it. 8)

I see under your avatar.I won't ask if you seen them, that might be cause for BANNED!  :D

Ha! The way you write that Kirk reminds me of biological sightings ("On the 3rd day of a blue harvest moon at the dawn of a new spring in Cocos Islands, the migratory blue-winged finglesnork can be glimpsed as long as you avoid direct eye contact with it.") I don't get Glen's update - I'll have to look into that. Glen hasn't been in P/O for a bit now so I'm not quite sure what I'd be missing out on there. Yup, they usually average about 2 gigs per year in Chicago. As far as seeing them, um, er, um - this guy I know.... a friend of a friend... yeah, that's it - he sees them quite often.

If you recall, I was just north of your neck of the woods last year, does that count?

When I'm involved in arguments pertaining to discipline, sometimes my students challenge certain threatened repercussions and say something like, "... but, you can't do that." (just like the man talking to the dog) so I tell them "I can do anything I like". Then one time, one of them said, "Are you God?". I replied a definite "No ... if I was God, I wouldn't exist."
